ESL One Thailand 2020: Americas kicks off this weekend

ESL
One Thailand 2020 kicks off in a little over two days with its Americas event
being the first on the calendar and with that, the schedule and format for the tournament
has been confirmed.

Over
the past few weeks, the open and closed qualifiers for ESL One Thailand 2020:
Americas have been played and come to an end, with two teams making their way
into the main event. On August 8th, 2020, the group stage for the
event kicks off as the eight teams begin their nearly month-long journey to
determine the Americas champion. With that, ESL One have confirmed the schedule
for the event, as we find out which teams will face off against one another
this coming weekend.

ESL One Thailand 2020: Americas’ group stage will see all eight
teams participating in a round robin filled with what is set to be some amazing
best-of-three Dota 2 action. For the opening day, we will see the following
series:

  • CR4ZY versus Thunder Predator
  • business associates versus Infamous

The remaining four teams will also see action this weekend as they
have their opening series on August 9th. The tournament is set to
have a total of seven “matchdays”, each of which will feature four series of
Dota 2, as the teams fight to claim their portion of the $65,000 prize pool and
to be crowned champions of ESL One Thailand 2020: Americas.

With teams such as beastcoast, Quincy Crew, CR4ZY and business
associates all included in the eight team event – plus a chance for
Gorillaz-Pride to cause some huge upsets after coming through the open
qualifier, ESL One Thailand 2020: Americas is sure to be an event of epic
proportions. And as it leads us through to the Asia leg of the tournament, we’re
ready for some great North and South American Dota 2.
