Professional League team FlyQuest has officially said their farewells to Jason “WildTurtle” Tran, Lucas “Santorin” Larsen, and Tristan “PowerOfEvil” Schrage. These long-time players have been a vital part of FlyQuest’s success in the past two years and are now looking for other opportunities. Replacing them will be Rainbow7 jungler Brandon “Josedeodo” Villegas, Dignitas AD Carry Johnson “Johnsun” Nguyen, and C9 mid laner Cristian “Palafox” Palafox.
Saying goodbye to the team
Tricia Sugita, CEO of FlyQuest, posted a video with a heartwarming message regarding WildTurtle and Santorin, “They’ve been with us for over two years, through the highs and the lows, and paving the way to two back-to-back finals in the LCS.” FlyQuest has recently reached third place for the 2020 LCS Summer Split and achieved 9 to 12th place at this year’s Worlds. The team also said their goodbyes to PowerOfEvil, who has played for them since last November.
A new spot for Josedeodo
While the team says goodbye to their top players, they welcomed Josedeodo with open arms. The Latin American jungler was rumored to be the team’s newest addition. On Friday afternoon, FlyQuest posted a video officially announcing Josedeodo’s new role in the team. The video quickly gained traction with over 55,000 views just 30 minutes in. His signing is one of the most anticipated moves during the offseason, and fans are excited for what’s to come.
Nick Smith, Head Coach of Golden Guardians, also congratulated the 22-year old Argentinian. Said Smith: “Happy to see you find a spot in LCS, even if it wasn’t with us.” This may have been a sign that the Gold Guardians possibly reached out with an offer before he signed with FlyQuest. Regardless, he’ll head to NA soon to leave a mark on the LCS, just like he did with Rainbow7 during Worlds.
