Krafton Donates Rs 1.5 Crores to COVID-19 Relief Efforts in India – The Esports Observer

PUBG and PUBG Mobile publisher Krafton, Inc. has donated Rs 1.5 Crores (roughly $202.4K USD) to the PM CARES Fund via its Indian subsidiary to help combat the COVID-19 pandemic in the country.

Changhan Kim, CEO of the South Korea-based game developer and publisher, wrote in a blog post Thursday that his company was committed to helping the people of India during this crisis.

“India is navigating a challenging time with the current wave of COVID-19,” Kim wrote. “We remain committed to supporting the efforts of the Government in battling this unprecedented crisis. We hope our contribution to the PM CARES Fund will help the aid efforts currently operational on the ground.”

India is currently going through a second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic, with a dramatic rise in confirmed cases in big cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Lucknow, Pune, and smaller cities and towns, creating shortages of hospital beds, oxygen, and space in crematoriums to deal with the increasing numbers of dead around the country.

According to data from the World Health Organization, there have been more than 204K deaths in India and 18.4M confirmed cases to date.
