LG Electronics USA and esports organization Evil Geniuses (EG) announced a collaboration Wednesday that will see the electronics maker sponsor a four-part web series called “Inside the Mind.” Sponsored by LG’s line of UltraGear Gaming Monitors, the series will be released weekly every Thursday from Sept. 10 – Oct. 1 on the Evil Geniuses YouTube channel.
The web series will highlight EG pro players including Tarik “Tarik” Celik (Counter-Strike: Global Offensive), Artour “Arteezy” Babaey (Dota 2), Ricki “HelloKittyRicki” Ortiz (various fighting games), and Justin “FearItself” Kats (Fortnite). In addition to highlighting how players prepare to play at the professional level, each episode will also highlight LG’s UltraGear line of IPS gaming monitors.
In conjunction with the weekly series, EG players will also face off against opponents in a two hour live-stream on Twitch each week. EG and LG will give away monitors, customized jerseys, and Twitch subscriptions during the broadcast.
EG began its partnership with LG in May, naming the electronics company its official marketing partner. EG’s other partnerships signed this year include mobile phone manufacturer Motorola and gaming chair maker Secretlab.
In August EG hired Chris DeAppolonio for the newly created role of chief innovation officer, with aims to expand into other areas of gaming and technology.
