Vici Gaming confirm the return of old eLeVeN to their roster

Earlier this month, the confirmation of Zhou “Yang” Haiyang departing
from the Vici Gaming roster meant that the team would be searching a new
position three player, which has now been revealed.

After the bigger teams in the Chinese region took a month long break from the competitive side of Dota 2, September 1st saw a few announcements coming out from the Vici Gaming camp as both Zhou “Yang” Haiyang and Bai “rOtk” Fan departed from the roster. Going down to four players and losing their coach, the team made no new confirmations up until today, when a new offlaner was confirmed with Ren “old eLeVeN” Yangwei making his return to the roster.

In a post made via the team’s
Weibo account, VG welcomed back old eLeVeN, who had last played with the roster
all the way back in 2017, during the first iteration of the Dota 2 Pro Circuit,
where he helped the squad triumphantly through multiple Majors and to reach The
International 2018.

Through thorough communication with old eLeVeN and EHOME, with respect for player’s personal will and his contract with the former club, the three parties have reached a consensus:

Ren “old eLeVeN” Yangwei, former player at EHOME.DOTA2, will transfer to VG.DOTA2 as position 3 from September 15th, 2020.

Three years ago during VG.DOTA2’s regrouping, old eLeVeN’s arrival helped VG back to the international competitive scene. He is bold and good at conducting, and he can always rally his teammates to find breakthroughs when the team is in the meta.

VG welcomes old eLeVeN to the team in this roster shuffle period when there’s a lack of core. Hope he can be the engine of the team in the mid-late phase of the game, while improving the team’s laning ability, to help the team make more achievements in the new season!”

With that, the current Vici Gaming
lineup returns to a full five, with no new announcements as yet of other
departures from the squad. VG’s current roster is:

  • Zhang “Eurus” Chengjun
  • Zeng “Ori” Jiaoyang
  • Ren “old eLeVeN” Yangwei
  • Xiong “Pyw” Jiahan
  • Ding “Dy” Cong

VG are set to play at the upcoming
China Dota2 Pro Cup Season 1, which kicks of on September 17th, and
we will get to see their latest roster in action. We will keep you up to date
on any and all other information that comes out from the VG camp regarding
their roster up until the event kicks off.
