A brand new event has leaked in Fortnite Chapter 2 – Season 3 thanks to the diligent work of dataminers. This new event, named “Hightower” in the game files, is presumed to be the end-of-season marvel that occurs at the start of every new season in Fortnite. Season 4 of the battle royale is expected to start sometime around late August, perhaps on the 28th or 29th. However, that doesn’t mean the new Hightower event won’t start before that. Here’s everything we know surrounding the leak and when it could begin in Fortnite.
Everything we know about the Hightower event in Fortnite
As with any new leak, there are not many concrete details regarding the event. While some dataminers have discovered juicy tidbits, it’s hard to make sense of it all right now since we don’t have much to go on. However, this almost certainly seems like Epic Games’ plan for the end of Season 3 and the start of Season 4.
We first heard of the event when the v13.40 update released earlier in the week. Popular leaker @HYPEX was the first to go into detail about what the event means and how it could look whenever it arrives.
If what HYPEX lays out is correct, then several new additions will come to the Fortnite Season 3 map. There’s the Crater POI, which is a bit of an enigma right now. There are also six strange dots that will have that symbol on them, which has been confirmed by other leakers.
Lastly, we have a location that simply says Hightower, which could be the actual spot where the event will take place. HYPEX also states that the Rifts are returning but we’re not sure why or in what capacity.
If all of this information is correct, we should likely see the start of the Hightower event a week or so before Season 4 begins. This could entail some map changes, as we see above, or other new pieces of content.
