Arizona Sunshine – The Damned DLC set to Expand the Zombie Universe This Summer

Thanks to both home and location-based versions, Arizona Sunshine by Vertigo Games and Jaywalkers Interactive is one of the bigger and more well known virtual reality (VR) franchises available. Today, the studios have announced a new expansion to the videogame, set to greatly expand the zombie apocalypse for fans.

Arizona Sunshine – The Damned DLC will be the largest mission yet claims Vertigo Games. A prequel chapter to the original storyline and the Dead Man DLC, The Damned will feature an all-new protagonist able to explore an iconic megastructure infested by undead. The task is deadly simple, all you and your team of US Special Forces need to do is reactivate the generators of a massive Arizonan hydroelectric dam to restore power to the military’s nuclear missile systems.

“As your team sets out, terrifying events unfold that leave you to complete your mission on your own,” explains the synopsis. “Make your way up, over and inside the massive structure in an effort to stop the spread of the apocalypse in its tracks with no more than your commander’s voice over the radio to keep you company. Your relationship could use some work, and crippled with a fear of heights and a healthy dread of flesh-eating undead crawling away in the depths of a dark, damp megastructure, you have seen better days…”

Arizona Sunshine – The Damned DLC is scheduled to launch for PlayStation VR, Oculus Rift, HTC Vive and Windows Mixed Reality headsets this summer. A price for the DLC has yet to be revealed.

In other Arizona Sunshine news, earlier this month location-based entertainment (LBE) company Nomadic announced spin-off experience Arizona Sunshine: Rampage, where teams will be able to enter a zombie-infested refinery and clear it out. It’s Nomadic’s second spin-off, with Arizona Sunshine: Contagion Z the first.

Arizona Sunshine includes both single-player and multiplayer modes. The campaign can be played solo and in co-op, where you embark on a quest to find other survivors across a zombie-overrun American South-West. With scarce gear, ammo, and consumables, you need to loot from your undead enemies and the post-apocalyptic surroundings to survive. VRFocus will continue its coverage of Arizona Sunshine, reporting back with the latest announcements.
