Bayonetta 3 introduces a new adventure of the beloved witch, traveling through different universes to save all existence from a new threat. Aided by the new character Viola, this journey will test Bayonetta's strength against an unknown enemy more powerful than anything she faced before.
During this very first chapter, we meet the island of Thule for the first time, and how it'll help Bayonetta and Viola as the starting point of this multiversal journey. Here's everything you need to know to beat this chapter.
The moment you land in Thule a fight will ensue, and you have to team up with Viola and defeat several enemies to progress, called Cavum and Stratus. While you already saw the Stratus during the prologue, you must watch your back when you fight any Cavum, since their laser attacks and missiles hit hard. This fight will also serve as a tutorial on how to use Gomorrah in battle.
- Enemies: Stratus, Cavum
After the first verse, a cutscene will play and you will reach the second open area. Look to your right, and in the distance, you'll see a purple portal. It'll teleport you to this verse, a Challenge where you'll have to defeat several enemies only using Gomorrah's Bite attack. Succeed on this, and you will obtain a Broken Witch Heart as a reward.
- Enemies: Floccus
Continue through the path until you reach a third open area, where another team-up fight with Viola will start against some Floccus, giant enemies that can hit very hard if you don't dodge correctly. Once the battle is done, follow the road and reach the multiversal portal that will take you for the first time to Ginnungagap, The Chaotic Rift.
- Enemies: Stratus, Floccus
Once inside Ginnungagap, you and Viola will be forced to part ways, and as you progress through this limbo zone, a fight against a few homunculi will happen. This shouldn't be an issue, so once you're done, proceed to the end of this zone where the portal to a new world awaits.
- Enemies: Cavum, Floccus
Bayonetta arrives in the new world inside a moving train, where a bunch of Stratus enemies will soon pop up and you have to defeat them. A cutscene will trigger, and you will take control of Gomorrah in a fast-paced chase sequence across the city, avoiding trains and collapsing buildings. After a fight against an Asperatus and a quick time event, you will safely land in Tokyo: Shibuya.
- Enemies: Stratus, Asperatus
Right after you land in Shibuya, keep moving forward until you reach a junction, and look to your right. You will see a collapsed train, and behind that, a purple portal. It'll teleport you to this verse, a Challenge where you'll have to defeat several enemies only using the Madama Butterfly Kiss attack. Succeed on this, and you will obtain a Broken Moon Pearl as a reward.
- Enemies: Floccus
Keep moving until a short cutscene triggers. After that, a fight against several Floccus will begin, and after defeating them, keep going through the main street to reach the 107 building.
- Enemies: Floccus
However, before you reach this area, look at the residential building on your right and climb up to its terrace, and you will find a golden portal that will spawn several angelic enemies from Paradiso called Affinity. These heavenly soldiers shouldn't be a problem but their spears may hit hard if you're reckless, so be careful when you deal with them and continue to the 107 building.
- Enemies: Affinity
Once you're inside the building, a fight will start against several Stratus. Dispatch them as quickly as possible and get out through the other side, jumping through collapsing ruins until a short cutscene plays and you get a new weapon, the G-Pillar.
- Enemies: Stratus
From the portal that takes you to the Gates Of Hell bar, go to your left until you see a purple portal. This verse is a Challenge where you'll have to team up with Jeanne against several enemies before the time runs out, and only using the G-Pillar weapon. Succeed on this, and you will obtain a Broken Witch Heart as a reward.
- Enemies: Stratus, Floccus, Cavum
Once you enter the underground tunnel, a small fight will break against several Stratus. Once you're done with them, you will find a new open area with some stairs. Descend further down and the next battle will occur.
- Enemies: Stratus, Cavum
After witnessing the gruesome death of a swat team, a fight against several enemies will begin. Defeat them and keep moving through tunnels and ruined subways, until you reach an open area.
- Enemies: Floccus, Stratus, Cavum
Once you get out of the sewers, a cutscene will trigger and a new enemy called Pannus will appear. This enemy will split into multiple versions of itself as you inflict more damage, so be sure to apply everything you have learned during this fight, and you shouldn't have a problem proceeding to the next Chapter.
- Enemies: Pannus
In each chapter, there are five objectives called Bewitchments, and they vary from chapter to chapter. These can involve fulfilling certain conditions like developing perfectly in combat, destroying particular objects in the background, or just finding particular secrets.

Across every chapter, you will find three animals called Umbran Tears Of Blood. Collecting the three of them in each chapter will unlock its alternative version, with new challenges and rewards.
