A brand new Monster Hunter game for Nintendo Switch has been rumored to be in the works for a long time. However, recently leaked details appear to finally give us an insight into what the upcoming Monster Hunter Switch game could actually entail.
The news comes from industry analyst Nibel on Twitter, who recently shared information about the Monster Hunter Switch game that is purportedly in the works.
You can check out the tweet for yourself below.
As you can see, Nibel links to a recent Reddit post published by a Monster Hunter fan who appears to be relatively well respected in the community.
According to the post, the new Monster Hunter game is apparently called Monster Hunter Rise, and will be launching for Nintendo Switch in 2021. Similarly to Monster Hunter Portable 3rd, it’s supposedly heavily inspired by Japan, and as well as having a palico pal, you’ll have a wonderful new dog companion to assist you on your quest to beat up loads of monsters.
Also, apparently you get a Navi-esque grappling hook that allows you to grapple toward thin air. In the modern era of every single video game having some sort of grappling hook, it’s nice to see some totally irrational but nonetheless intriguing innovation every so often.
According to the leak, the release date for the new Monster Hunter Switch is supposedly March 26, 2021.
Although it’s not clear whether or not this is actually representative of the Monster Hunter game currently being developed for Nintendo Switch, it’s worth noting that this isn’t the only new monster ’em up in the works: A brand new Monster Hunter game was recently announced (yay) for pachinko machines (nay).
Anyway, it’s unlikely that the new Monster Hunter game – if this is the one that’s been rumored for ages – will make an appearance during today’s Nintendo Direct showcase. But you never know – you’ll have to tune it at the link, just in case.
