We got our first look at the upcoming Dune RPG by Modiphius Entertainment. It doesn’t go too deep into things like planned mechanics or release dates, but it does give us a gorgeous piece depicting some adventurers running to a ship as a sandworm comes to devour them.
Dune: Adventures in the Imperium is the officially-licensed Dune tabletop RPG. It will use Modiphius’ 2d20 system as its base, the same system the company uses for its Conan and Star Trek TTRPGs. The writing and design team has a history with many top games, such as the aforementioned Conan and Star Trek, D&D, Warhammer 40k, and Call of Cthulu. There’s also supposed to be an emphasis on the diversity inherent in Dune lore.
The new art can be seen in its full glory on the Modiphius website, along with a more detailed description of the history of the dev team. Dune: Adventures in the Imperium doesn’t have a set release date, but it seems likely that it will come out close to the release of the film next year.
Modiphius is also working on its own streaming convention, where some gameplay of Dune: Adventures in the Imperium can be seen.
