Fans of Gears 5 who purchased the Ultimate Edition have received compensation for the early server issues.
The Coalition, developers of Gears 5, has announced that it will be compensating all players who have played the game early, as an apology for such a shaky launch.
Gears 5 has been plagued by an array of issues since its launch on Thursday, the majority being significant connection errors on all modes, extended matchmaking times, and other problems such as randomly kicking people out of games.
Even simple things led to errors, such as post-match stats not being issued correctly to some players, and we know how valuable peoples’ kill/death ratios are to them.
As recompense for these problems, as the tweet from The Coalition above states, they will be giving out in-game currency called Scrap to all players – which is another thing players missed out on from finishing online games due to the matchmaking disconnections.
Only those who bought the Ultimate Edition were able to start playing on Thursday, with the game only officially launching today.
That will hopefully mean that all the problems they’ve had with the initial launch have been rectified by now. If not, we can see another compensation again for all players in the near future…
Other than all the problems, Gears 5 offers plenty of content and all in all, is a decently mixed bag, which we have detailed in our review.
