Halo Infinite’s still due to launch later in the year, but it looks like 343 Industries already has another Halo title planned.
Halo Infinite is still on track to launch later this year, alongside the Xbox Series X, and we should be seeing more of it next month too.
However, it sounds like studio 343 Industries already has another Halo project in the pipeline.
Twitter user Klobrille, who has shared information about other Microsoft-related studios and titles in the past, recently discovered a new job listing from 343 Industries, which was then shared via Windows Central.
The listing is for a senior producer who will ‘help develop a new project in the Halo universe.’
As for what kind of spin-off it could be, there are some possibilities. It could be an experiment in a different genre, such as real-time strategy Halo Wars 2 – which was generally well received by fans.
It could also be something smaller in scope and scale, though, like the mobile twin-stick shooter Halo: Spartan Assault.
Or maybe it’s another third-person shooter that acts as a side story to Infinite, similar to what Halo 3: ODST was for Halo 3.
Or perhaps it’s something completely new entirely. At this point, all we can do is speculate and it’ll probably be a very long time until something gets officially announced, since this project is likely still early in development.
Halo Infinite will release for Xbox Series X, Xbox One and PC this year.
