The Pokemon franchise is designed around single-player experiences and PVP multiplayer battles. It’s not built for the group party dynamics of a game like Dungeons & Dragons, but the monsters from Pokemon can still be used as enemies for parties to face. Mr. Mime debuted in Pokemon Red & Blue, but it could only be acquired through an in-game trade. As such, every Mr. Mime in the first generation of Pokemon games was either called Marcel or Miles. Mr. Mime is currently one of the longest-running active characters in the Pokemon anime, and it briefly joined Ash’s team during the Pokemon Journeys series. The Mr. Mime line also received a Galarian for in Pokemon Sword & Shield, as well as its first evolution, with Mr. Rime. Once Mr. Mime has elicited enough amazement, fear, or laughter, it bows and runs off to find more victims for its routine.

The disturbing visage of Mr. Mime means that it’s liable to be attacked by foes who think it’s an enemy. Mr. Mime’s mimicry powers are assisted by its incredible psychic abilities, which allow it to form barriers of telekinetic energy, lash out the minds of foes with telepathy, and switch in other dolls with lightning-fast teleportation magic. Mr. Mime can also perform a freakish dance that unseals the chaotic magic holding its body together and fills the minds of nearby foes with glimpses of the Feywild. It’s best to let Mr. Mime have its fun and go on its merry way, than risk facing madness or destruction at its fingertips.
