With dozens of materials available in Ikonei Island: An Earthlock Adventure, it can be easy to lose track of them all. Some materials can be crafted, but others require a bit of processing. One of these processed items that you will eventually need is fish bones.

In this guide, we are going to go over how you can get fish bones. Overall, this is a pretty simple process, but it can be hard to know where to begin. First, let's take a look at the creature you will need to tame in order to get fish bones.

Ikonei Island: An Earthlock Adventure is currently in Early Access on Steam and as such, the content is subject to change. We will update these articles as required.

Fishing With An Otterlot

Fish bones come from fish, and to get fish, you will need an Otterlot. This is a tamed creature that can be found in cages on the southwestern side of the beach. For more information on taming an Otterlot, be sure to check out our guide that takes you through each step.

With a tamed Otterlot, you just need to bond with the creature to gain control of their movement, and then head over to any body of water. Here, you will see schools of fish swimming around. If the fish school is equal to or lower than your star rating, then you can interact and fish.

Processing Fish Bones

Now that you have fish, it's time to turn them into fish bones. To do this, you will need to use the cutter. This is a piece of equipment that can be purchased from C.A.T. in the workshop.

If you don't have access to C.A.T.'s shop yet, head over to our guide on restoring the mech.

With a cutter placed on the island, you can insert fish to receive fish bones. All you need to do is hold your fish and interact with the cutter. After a short period of time, you will receive fish bones. The type of fish that you place into the machine will not change the output item; you will still get fish bones.

That's all there is to know about getting fish bones! You can use these bones in crafting, as well as to repair the shrine on the southeastern side of the beach.
