There’s not an awful lot of crafting to do in Lost Ark. But that doesn’t mean finding cooking ingredients isn’t important. There are some meals you can create to improve your stats. But mostly, ingredients are used to help complete your Adventurer’s Tome for each continent.
The Arthetine cooking recipe ingredients are a real mixed bag. Thankfully none of them are ridiculously expensive or need lots of luck to get all of the pieces you need. But you will have to collect ingredients in two dungeons, find the elusive Wandering Merchant, and buy crystals from a complex menu that’s easy to get wrong. Let's go over a list of tips and locations below.
You’ll need access to the Dr Bergstrom’s Lab dungeon in Totrich before you can complete this recipe. Once inside (on either difficulty level), you’ll immediately see a large machine on your right with a couple of large test tubes attached. On its south side, you’ll see a mokoko seed – and opposite that on the other side, you’ll find Bergstrom’s Yellow Potion.
Continue through the dungeon following the quest. You’ll do a loop of the east side that brings you back to the start point, before heading northwest. You’ll now do a similar loop in the north of the dungeon, through the Biological Lab and Power Core Room. Just before you get to the Power Core, there’s an unnamed room. As you enter it from the north, you’ll see some racks on the southeast side of the area with papers on the top shelf and cogs on the shelf below. Investigate here to find Bergstrom’s Invisibility Potion.
With both of these potions in your inventory, head to the Cook robot outside Neria’s Tavern in the Origins of Stern area. In exchange for the two potions, plus 1,700 silver coins, Cook Cooking Master will make you the Bergstrom Drink you need. Once you have it, you just need to right-click it in your inventory for it to be added to your Adventurer’s Tome.
Boosting Fluid Soup
You need to buy some ‘Adrenaline-boosting Fluid’, which costs 777 silver coins from Wandering Merchant Nox. As with all wandering merchants in Lost Ark, you need to time it right to meet up with him. He’ll be at the following locations at the following times, and will stay in each location for 25 minutes (note that these times are for both am and pm in your server’s time zone):
- Scraplands (near the Guard Post Triport): 12:30
- Nebelhorn (near the Nebelhorn Lab Triport): 2:30
- Windbringer Hills (near the Guard Post Triport): 5:30
- Totrich (near the Clockwork Square Triport): 6:30
- Riza Falls (near the Whirlpool Observatory Triport): 8:30
- Arid Path (near the Lupen Port Triport): 9:30
You’ll know if you’ve arrived at the right time, as Nox will be easy to spot on your map when you arrive at the triport (he appears as a gray icon that looks like wheel). Once you’ve acquired the Adrenaline-boosting Fluid, take it to the cook outside Neria’s Tavern in Stern. The robot will turn it into Boosting Fluid Soup for 1,400 silver coins.
Cykin Combat Ration Type A
Get yourself to the Market District Triport in Origins of Stern and head north towards Neria’s Tavern. Just to the left of the tavern entrance, you’ll find Cooking Ingredient Merchant Malina. She only sells one thing – the Cykin Combat Ration Type A – for 30,000 silver coins. Buy one and right-click it directly to add it to your Adventurer’s Tome.
Cykin Combat Ration Type C
Go to the Guard Triport in Scraplands. Walk west into the camp past the repairer and up into its northwest corner. Above where Regulator Ernst is standing, you’ll see a tall metal cannister. Hidden behind it is a sack containing the first ingredient you need – the ‘Vacuum-dried Powder X-3’.
Now head east from the Relay Guard Camp towards the Hoverboard Testing Site. Keep to the left side of the path. Just before you get to the entrance to the site, you’ll see three large metal cylinders against the fence. Next to the cylinder that isn’t in an oblong frame is a sack. Investigate this sack to find the ‘Vacuum-dried Powder X-1’ you need.
With both ingredients in your inventory, head back to the Cooking Master in Origins of Stern, who stands outside Neria’s Tavern. The robot cook will create the Cykin Combat Ration Type C you need for 900 silver coins.
To complete this recipe, you need to collect an ingredient from the first floor of the Heart of Sceptrum dungeon. So, if you don’t have access yet, you’ll need to continue the main story quest until you do. Once inside the dungeon, you need to proceed past the first elevator to the area with the dangerous spinning discs. Go slightly past them, as a few mercenaries will attack you. It’s best to dispatch these first, before searching out the ingredient you need.
Now, look back to the discs. There’s a machine throwing them out from either side of the path. Despite having health bars, these machines cannot be damaged or defeated. Just past the one on the south side of the gangway, you’ll see some notes on the floor by the corner of the railing. Investigate these to get the Sceptrum Prescription ingredient. If you stand in just the right spot, all the discs will continue to miss you – so you can take your time.
Once you’ve got the prescription, you can head back to Origins of Stern and visit Cook, just outside Neria’s Tavern in the Market District. You don’t need to complete the dungeon, as long as you have the prescription. The Cooking Master will make you the finished Sceptrumpan 3mg for 1,400 silver coins.
Unknown Liquid XD-6353
You need good eyesight to complete this one. First, go to the Cook Cooking Master robot that’s on the platform outside Neria’s Tavern, in the Market District of Origins of Stern. Start a dialogue with it and you’ll see the crafting menu. Scroll down until you see ‘Boiling Liquid’ and select it. This will show you the 22 ingredients you need to make the liquid.
On the plus side, the robot cook sells all these ingredients. But on the downside, it has lots that have very similar names – so you have to be super careful making your purchases. Each ingredient is also going to cost you an ‘Unknown Crystal’. These can be purchased from Cooking Ingredient Merchant Deberry, who is standing just to the right of the door to Neria’s Tavern. The crystals cost 70 silver coins each.
Buy the crystals from Deberry, use them to buy the correct ingredients from the cook, then give those to the cook to make you the ‘Boiling Liquid’ (for an additional 1,700 silver). Once that’s in your inventory, wait for it to cool down (five minutes) – and then you’ll have your Unknown Liquid XD-6353.
You can buy the X-090892 energy drink directly from Potion Merchant Jane in Totrich village. Go to the Clockwork Square Triport and head north towards Thirsty Sprocket Tavern. At the crossroads, turn right towards the Gebison Antique Shop, and you’ll see her on the left side of the path. Simply buy the drink from Jane for 30,000 silver coins, before right-clicking it in your inventory to add it to your tome.
