Metal Gear Solid 1 to 3 getting new remaster collection claim sources

As Konami teases a revival, rumours of multiple Metal Gear Solid remasters resurface with new details.

Last year, there were reports of Konami reviving its premiere video game franchises with new projects. For Metal Gear, the alleged plan was to release remasters of older entries in the run up to a brand new game.

While Konami itself hasn’t commented on any of this, recent rumblings suggest there could be an announcement, or at least a tease, at the Tokyo Game Show next month.

Recently, Konami confirmed that a new entry in a ‘world-beloved series’ would be revealed during the event. Sources have already claimed, though, that it’s unrelated to Meal Gear, or other obvious guesses such as Castlevania and Silent Hill.

However, it’s also suggested that Konami has at least one other reveal planned for the event. Namely, remasters of older games.

While they don’t specify Metal Gear, this would line up with the report from last year.

This is according to VGC’s Andy Robinson, who said on Twitter ‘From what I hear the reveal(s?) planned here will still excite a lot of people. Likely remasters.’

He adds that it’s more likely that Konami is saving reveals for the Metal Gear, Castlevania, and Silent Hill revivals for a more global event, such as The Game Awards, this year. Although it’s entirely possible they’ll be teased beforehand.
