Modder Adds Kingdom Hearts Cloud Costume In Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

A modder has accomplished what director Masahiro Sakurai will never do: include some sort of Kingdom Hearts representation in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.

Joe T.E. included a new look for Cloud inspired by his appearance in the first Kingdom Hearts game. The hero appears in Olympus Coliseum, being taken advantage of by Hades. He has a fittingly dark and brooding design as he steps a little too close to the darkness during the events of the game. He eventually finds his way, thanks to Sora, and is on a mission to find his light. Cloud later dons his Advent Children attire in KH2 that he officially wears in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.

The model is impressively detailed. His tattered cape swings behind him and his epic Buster Sword is covered up in bandages just like his Kingdom Hearts appearance. Everything, including his hip armor and wing, are all using the correct physics that make him fit right into this smashing old time.

This Kingdom Hearts costume for Cloud officially made it to Dissidia: Final Fantasy NT, so it’s nice to know at least one fighting game developer acknowledges Cloud’s awesome Olympus get up. If Nintendo ever were to include costume DLC for Ultimate, his KH design would be an optimal pick. Regardless, this fan mod certainly appears as if it’s legit.

Cloud’s most hated enemy Sephiroth is present in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate with the latest DLC. He surprised fans at The Game Awards late last year and then thrilled players with his unique move set. Being able to control such a long sword is a delight in the game, but it might be spoiling the balance online with his crazy attacks. Under a very specific circumstance, he can deal 59000% damage with just one hit.

Just recently, Square Enix has filed a few new trademarks that seem related to Final Fantasy 7: Ever Crisis and The First Soldier; these seem to be referring to sequels or spinoffs that heavily feature Zack and Sephiroth. Rumors are flying about a possible PS5 version of Final Fantasy 7 Remake being announced soon but don’t hold your breath! There’s no official confirmation by Square Enix yet.
