Need for Speed: Heat, being the open world racing game that it is, hosts a wide range of Safehouses for you to unlock and utilize to help you along your street racing career. Unlocking Safehouses can be a great way to open new Fast Travel points, as well as giving you a place to escape police at night and lower your Wanted Level. And, like other Need for Speed entries, Safehouses can also be used to change vehicles, modify parts, and download online cosmetics.
The good news is, Safehouses can be unlocked by simply driving past them. After you have successfully completed the tutorial and unlocked the Hideout, you will have the opportunity to enter the Free Roam mode, at which point you'll want to tour Palm City and unearth the 13 available Safehouses.
All Safehouse Locations
There are 13 Safehouses to find in Need for Speed: Heat, many of which can be unlocked by simply driving to them and entering their garages. To uncover every Safehouse in Palm City, you will need to complete a full tour of the fictionalized Miami, Florida.
Palm City is broken up into 18 districts, each of which contain Speed Traps, Long Jumps, Drift Zones, Street Art, Flamingos, and Billboards. To 100 percent Need for Speed: Heat, you will need to conquer each activity in every district, as well as unlock all 13 Safehouses. The districts with Safehouses in Palm City are as follows:
Bayview Park
There are two Safehouses to unlock in the Bayview Park district. You can find the first in the northeast corner near the bridge, and the second in the south by the Gas Station. You can access this section of the map at any point after completing the prologue.
Eden Shores
There is one Safehouse to unlock in the Eden Shores district, which can be found in the center, near the Billboard. You can access this section of the map at any point after completing the prologue.
Downtown Palm City
There is one Safehouse to unlock in the Downtown Palm City district, which can be found in the northwest section between the Drift Zone and Billboard. You can access this section of the map at any point after completing the prologue.
Mendoza Keys
There is one Safehouse to unlock in the Mendoza Keys district, which can be found in the center of the southeast island, near the shoreline. You can access this section of the map at any point after completing the prologue.
Cape Castille
There is one Safehouse to unlock in the Cape Castille district, which can be found in the southeast section of Palm City, near the beach. You can access this section of the map at any point after completing the prologue.
Sandino Ranches
There is one Safehouse to unlock in the Sandino Ranches district, which can found along the stretch of road between the two collectible Billboards. You can access this section of the map at any point after completing the prologue.
Port Murphy
There is one Safehouse to unlock in the Port Murphy district, which can be found at the top-right section of the town, near the Billboard and countryside. You can access this section of the map at any point after completing the prologue.
Edgewood Valley
There is one Safehouse to unlock in the Edgewood Valley district, which can be found opposite the collectible Flamingo and the Long Jump challenge "Shopping's in the Air." You can access this section of the map at any point after completing the prologue.
Fort Callahan
There is one Safehouse to unlock in the Fort Callahan district, which can found in the south of the village, near the Gas Station and collectible Flamingo. You can access this section of the map at any point after completing the prologue.
Cloudbank
There is one Safehouse to unlock in the Cloudbank district, which can be found near the collectible Street Art and Drift Zone challenge marked "Crazy Sled Ride." You can access this section of the map at any point after completing the prologue.
Rockville
There is one Safehouse to unlock in the Rockville district, which can be found in the northwest of Palm City, near the Gas Station, Street Art, and collectible Flamingo. You can access this section of the map at any point after completing the prologue.
Palm City Raceway
There is one Safehouse to unlock in the Palm City Raceway district, which can be found just north of the circuit, between the Street Art and collectible Flamingo. You can access this section of the map at any point after completing the prologue.
What Can You Do At A Safehouse?
Unlocking a Safehouse in Palm City will grant you the opportunity to toy with a myriad of functions. At its heart, a Safehouse is a home away from home, and a place that can help remove your Wanted Level when on the run from the authorities. Apart from this, Safehouses can also let you modify your collected vehicles, purchase various cosmetics, and even design new personalized decals to upload to the online server.
You cannot enter a Safehouse or access the Fast Travel feature when being directly pursued by the law. To access one, you will need to lower your Wanted Level by hiding in any of the discreet locations around Palm City.
