Ubisoft will be holding another event next week, though it coming so shortly after its newest controversy has raised suspicions.
In July, Ubisoft held its E3 replacement, Ubisoft Forward, which saw the official announcement of Far Cry 6 and other additional details for the likes of Watch Dogs: Legion and Assassin’s Creed Valhalla.
At the time, Ubisoft stated that it planned to hold another one of these events later in the year, and now we know one is coming next week on 10 September at 10pm.
The announcement promises new game announcements and details for already confirmed titles, showing clips of Hyper Scape, Watch Dogs: Legion, and what is most likely the revamped Gods & Monsters, which has now been renamed Immortals: Fenyx Rising.
This news comes shortly after Ubisoft’s latest controversy, where its mobile title Tom Clancy’s Elite Squad featured a terrorist organisation whose logo was near identical to the one used for the Black Lives Matter movement.
Many see Ubisoft’s decision to announce and hold this Ubisoft Forward so soon after the backlash as an attempt to distract people from it, something the last event was accused of doing too.
Back then, Ubisoft was dealing with accusations of sexual harassment, which has since led to a number of employees leaving the company.
At the time, Ubisoft opted to not address the allegations during the event, but this only resulted in it receiving further criticism.
