Nintendo Directs are significant events for Switch gamers as they provide the best news source on what’s coming next to the handheld console.
So finding out when the next livestream is being hosted is a big deal for those hoping to find out this year’s big plans.
Highlights could include a new Mario Kart game and footage from Zelda Breath of the Wild 2, which is still expected to arrive sometime in 2022.
And the good news is that the first reveal of 2022 could be just a few weeks away for those eager to find out about the next Nintendo Switch games.
A known Nintendo insider has shared information that suggests the first Nintendo Direct of 2022 will happen before February 17, and something could even drop later this month.
However, Samus Hunters over on Twitter also points out that there is still a lot of news to be shared before we have the whole picture.
The full leak from Samus Hunter reads: “I know that there are a lot of people that are eager to find when the next Nintendo Direct is scheduled. Well, I’m hearing some announcements scheduled and launch period for games that right now makes me confident to say that it should arrive before last February direct.
“In the coming days I will go into more detail explaining some of the announcements and motivations, but I don’t rule out that it could also arrive in January.
“There are announcements that are usually scheduled two months before launch that fall in late March.
“I see several articles going around about lineups for Nintendo this year, there are games I don’t see mentioned or titles that will be coming out later. By now it’s confirmed from news outlet that there will be Legends previews this week, as I had mentioned just yesterday.”

As mentioned above, one of the biggest games arriving on Nintendo Switch this year is Zelda Breath of the Wild 2, which could help push Switch sales even further.
As the name suggests, the next Link adventure will be a direct sequel to the best-selling hit that helped cement the Switch’s place in the current gaming landscape.
Nintendo has kept fans guessing about the upcoming sequel, revealing very little about how the game will differ from the original Breath of the Wild.
At the time of writing, fans don’t even know the official title of the game, with the Nintendo website listing it as “The sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild”.
This could be one of the first things we learn about the new Zelda game, although it’s unclear if Nintendo will wait until closer to its release date to share the big details.
