Outriders Coming To Stadia On April 1

Square Enix and People Can Fly will be bringing Outriders to Google Stadia on April 1. The cooperative shooter was previously confirmed for the platform, but an official release date was not disclosed.

Outriders has been hit with several delays throughout its development. Originally slated to launch on console and PC during the 2020 holiday season, then in 2021 for Stadia, it seems that players on all platforms will be able to jump into the game at the same time when it launches in April.

“It is my pleasure to announce that Outriders will be available on Google Stadia,” said Sebastian Wojchiechowski, CEO and Studio Head at People Can Fly. “One of the core concepts of Outriders is that you can play it your way, with a character progression system that allows for unrivaled creativity and flexibility. With the exciting and innovative Cloud technology of Google Stadia, you will be able to play your way, anywhere.”

Unless this is some sort of cruel, early April Fools’ joke, bringing Outriders to Stadia is a bright spot for the service as of late. While Google regularly adds games to the Stadia roster, Outriders is without a doubt one of the biggest additions since Cyberpunk 2077. Launching on Stadia the same day as all other platforms is a boon as well, as Stadia fans won’t have to wait several months to check out People Can Fly’s highly anticipated shooter.

If you can’t wait that long, Outriders will be getting a demo on February 25. This will include access to both single-player and cooperative modes, along with all four available classes. It sounds like the demo will give you a glimpse of the first few hours of the game’s fast-paced action and progress will carry over to the full title when you eventually purchase it.

Outriders will be available on Stadia on April 1. You can also find it on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
