PlayStation Arabia's Instagram page has shared a new piece of art for God of War Ragnarok, showing Freya fighting Kratos and Atreus.
Just yesterday, PlayStation finally confirmed that God of War Ragnarok will be launching November 9, finally ending the rumours that it had been delayed into 2023. Alongside that, it also shared a look at the various collector's editions of the game, as well as a short CG tease that shows Kratos and Atreus fighting alongside each other.
Now that the release date for God of War Ragnarok has been revealed, it looks like marketing for the game will begin in earnest, as a new piece of art has already been shared by PlayStation Arabia's Instagram page. As pointed out by gaming insider Nibellion, the new piece of art was shared on the Arabian PlayStation Instagram page alongside the announcement of the game's release date.
The new art shows Freya attacking Kratos while he rides on a sleigh. Atreus is in the foreground preparing to shoot Freya and protect Kratos, while Mimir hangs from his belt as usual. Kratos appears to be in the same updated attire that we've seen him in during the game's official reveal trailer, as well as in the main key art, with fur around his shoulders.
If the scene looks familiar to you, that's because it's incredibly reminiscent of one of the early shots found in the game's reveal trailer. While Atreus talks about wanting to explore and find out about his legacy as Loki, we see Freya turning into a raven and attacking Kratos as he rides the sleigh, with Kratos using his shield to prevent himself from being attacked.
Considering Freya's appearance here in the game's second piece of officially released art, it's clear that her quest against Kratos and Atreus is going to be an important part of Ragnarok, which shouldn't come as much of a surprise considering how important she was in the last game. With this piece of art randomly dropped, it looks like we can expect to see more coming now that the release date has been announced.
