PS5: Sony unveil pricing for PlayStation 5 console
PS5 stock has sold out at lightning speed up and down the country with only a lucky few able to get their hands on Sony’s next-gen console. After the PlayStation 5 dropped in November last year, it has been a real struggle to get one at retail price with news of a PS5 restock scant and online retailers completely sold out. Smyths Toys, GAME, Argos and Currys all carried the PS5 for a limited time and have promised to restock their shelves as soon as Sony releases more stock.
Now, there is good news on the horizon as Smyths has confirmed on its website a restock is coming.
However, you will want to pay very close attention to the store’s website as any new stock is likely going to fly off the shelves as soon as it lands.
A Smyths representative told Express.co.uk: “This item is currently unavailable for pre-order.
“Due to its popularity, if there is any additional stock it will be extremely limited.
We will use your email address only for sending you newsletters. Please see our Privacy Notice for details of your data protection rights.
“Please keep an eye out on the website for the most up to date stock information.
“Unfortunately, Customer Service is not aware of future stock updates, such as dates/times stock will replenish.”
So when exactly can gamers expect Smyths to restock the PS5?
All of January’s allocated stock has already sold out and you cannot pre-order the console online.
But more stock is on its way and should drop at some point next month, according to the Smyths website.

Smyths said on January 15: “All PlayStation 5 stock is now allocated. Our next available date is February 2021.”
For the time being, you can head over to Smyths and purchase some of the PlayStation 5’s accessories to tide over the wait.
As of January 20, you can buy the PS5 DualSense wireless controller for £59.99.
You can also get your hands on Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales for £47.99, down on its regular price of $51.99.

Smyths also has good news for fans of the new Xbox, as more stock is expected to drop before the month is over.
The Xbox Series X 1TB Console is unavailable at the moment, but Smyths said stock is expected in January 2021.
The same is true of the Xbox Series S 512GB Console.
And once stock does arrive, Smyths has imposed a limit of one console purchase per customer.
Where else can you buy the PlayStation 5?
Even with no sight of PS5 stock at the time being, you should keep an eye out on the major retailers.
Argos said: “We’re working hard to make this available as soon as possible”.
Similarly, Currys has said on its website: “We are working tirelessly to secure more stock. Please continue to check this page for more updates.”
You should also check Amazon, where you can sign up for email alerts for when the PS5 is restocked.
