PS5 restocks continue to take place in the UK, with Smyths and Very the latest retailers to get stock.

The console has already been on sale at the likes of Currys, Argos and GAME earlier this week.

While stock continues to sell out at a record-setting pace, more and more customers are beginning to get hold of the in-demand console.

Customers still looking to get their hands on a PS5 should now turn their attention to Very and Smyths.

Indeed, some consoles have already been sold at Smyths earlier today (March 4).

Fortunately, however, more units are expected to go back on sale at Smyths later this afternoon.

It sounds like the next Smyths drop will be quite small, so good luck getting hold of one.

As for Very, various PS5 stock alert sites have suggested that a stock drop will take place at some point this week.

An earlier PS5 UK Stock – Instant Updates tweet said that Very will drop later this week, after the likes of GAME.

“Unfortunately GAME stock is delayed as they still haven’t finished shipping out last weeks orders due to staff shortages in warehouses,” reads a recent tweet. “GAME (9-12am) should likely be tomorrow but could be anytime this week. Very also due to drop this week.”

The channel has been pretty accurate with its PS5 restock predictions, so there’s a good chance we’ll get a restock either today or tomorrow.

It’s also possible we’ll get a restock at the likes of ShopTo, AO, John Lewis and Simply Games, so keep checking back for the latest updates.

Judging by the feedback on Twitter, it looks like bots and scalpers are still having a big impact on availability of PS5 stock.

PS5: Sony unveil pricing for PlayStation 5 console

In addition to bots and scalpers, another reason why the console is so hard to come by is a lack of components.

Sony CFO Hiroki Totoki recently said that the manufacturing of PS5 consoles has taken a hit in the last few months. This is due to a lack of semiconductors and other components.

“It is difficult for us to increase production of the PS5 amid the shortage of semiconductors and other components,” Sony CFO Hiroki Totoki explained.

“We have not been able to fully meet the high level of demand from customers [but] we continue to do everything in our power to ship as many units as possible to customers who are waiting for a PS5.”

Fingers crossed Sony rectifies the problem sooner rather than later, especially with some of the games expected to drop later in 2021.
