RuneScape is celebrating Valentine’s Day with a new, permanent quest called Heartstealer. To get started, rush over to the warehouse in Edgeville and speak to Caelyn, who’s forgotten to buy Annette an anniversary gift and needs your help getting out of a bind.
Rewards for completing the quest include the Heartstealer title and a “set of stylish new duds that are perfect for your phantom thief shenanigans.” There are no prerequisites for the mission, but if you have at least level 20 Thieving you’ll also be rewarded with a Thieving XP lamp. All told, that’s not a bad haul for helping out a few lovebirds.
If you’d rather find other ways to earn XP in RuneScape, you’ll be glad to know that Double XP Live is returning on February 19. “For 10 days, you’ll have 48 hours of Double XP time to spend however you wish, whether that’s getting your hands dirty with Archaeology, becoming a master Slayer, or mixing it up with some Herblore,” said Jagex. A few restrictions apply to the doubled XP gain, so check out the full list of exclusions before you start the grind.
Beyond the Valentine’s Day and Double XP fun, Jagex announced plenty of other changes from today’s patch. The biggest news comes from the Ninja Strike team, which has focused its attention on Fairy Rings. You’ll now find a reworked interface for the popular travel method, along with more favorites listed to help you quickly find your destination.
A few other teleportation-related changes were made, including minor improvements for the Big Book O’Piracy, the Enchanted Lyre, Morytania Legs, and Sceptre of the Gods. Many of these saw increased charge capacity, giving you the ability to teleport more frequently before needing to get a recharge.
A full list of patch notes can be found on the official RuneScape website.
RuneScape is now available on Steam as a free-to-play title, with the option for a monthly subscription. Old School RuneScape is also planned to launch on Steam later this month on February 24.
