RuneScape players are currently experience issues logging into the game, and Jagex is currently working on a fix. Its login servers were brought back online a few hours ago, but players are still reporting issues jumping back into the game.
“Our teams have been able to bring back up our login servers,” reads the announcement. “However, to fully fix the issue, we will need to rollback progress for a small portion of players back to [14:15 GMT]. We estimate this rollback to happen at 17:00 GMT.”
However, since issuing that notice at approximately 12:00pm ET, reports are still coming in from players that they cannot log in. Jagex replied with the following:
“Our team [is] continuing to work hard to resolve the ongoing login issues. We hope to have more info to share soon and we’ll keep you updated throughout this matter.”
If you happen to be in-game already, Jagex advises against changing worlds or taking part in any high-risk activities.
RuneScape servers have been impressively stable over the years, and players aren’t quite sure what to do during the downtime. Some have recommended checking out the official RuneScape novels – which I didn’t even know existed until early today.
Be sure to stay tuned to the official RuneScape Twitter account for constant updates.
