The information from the earlier listing showed that Index has integrated headphones and a tether with DisplayPort 1.2 and USB 3.0 connectors, but by default does not come with either base stations or controllers.
It’s unclear whether you’ll be able to use the base stations from the HTC Vive, if you happen to already have them, but the Index controllers mentioned have been confirmed to be the ‘Knuckles’ controllers that Valve has been working on for the last couple of years.
Crucially there’s no pricing information yet, but it’s probably best to expect the worst as Vive was always the most expensive of the major headsets.
There’s no hint as to any new software that might be released around the same time. Rumours have suggested a new Half-Life title is currently underway for Index, but most gamers will know better than that to believe that without some substantial evidence.
