Depending on what subscriptions you have with your Xbox One, there are new free games to download this weekend.
But even if you don’t have an Xbox Live Gold account, you should still be able to check out a few new additions over the coming days.
Angry Mob Games has released a new free demo for one of their latest gaming experiences, which can be downloaded from the Xbox Game Store today.
Brawlout, initially released in 2018 for Xbox One, is a colourful fighting game that achieved average review scores following its console launch.
And while it might not prove popular with everyone, Xbox Live Gold subscribers don’t have much to lose in trying it out.
Downloading the new Brawlout demo won’t cost a thing; however, it does come with some limitations.
While the normal version of the game allows up to four players to compete in either Timed, Stock, Team Battles, FFA or Party Modes, the demo version doesn’t have the same options.
Each week, the Brawlout demo will feature three playable fighters, by rotation and comes with the notification that all online modes are only available in the Full Brawlout version.

It has an age rating of 10+, and also boasts a tiny download size, making it easier to fit on your console.
Gamers will need to find just 2GB of space on their Xbox One hard drive, and will also require Xbox Live Gold for multiplayer play.
For those who need a refresher covering Brawlout’s unique fighting experience, you can read more about it below:
“Striking the balance between the growing competitive scene and the genre’s party game roots, Brawlout hopes to cater to the veteran platform fighter, the casual fan and the newcomer looking to make their mark.
“Each character in Brawlout has their own unique playstyle, catering to specific character archetypes seen in other fighters.
“Combined with familiar movement techniques like wavedashing and air dodging, Brawlout adds some extra mechanics seen in other fighting games. The Rage Meter builds up as you both deal and take damage, allowing you either break combos with the Rage Burst or unleash hell with the Rage Mode.
“The Rage Burst pushes opponents back, breaking their combos and allowing players to create some breathing room at the cost of half their Rage Meter. If the meter fills, you can activate the Rage Mode, increasing the knockback you deal while reducing the amount you take.”
If Platformer combat isn’t your thing, then Xbox Live Gold gamers also have access to 70 other free games that can be downloaded on Xbox One.
These include titles like Apex Legends, Fortnite and World of Warships: Legends, which can all be found in the Xbox Game Store.
And if none of these standout out as great options, Xbox Live Gold subscribers can also enjoy the recently added Games with Gold May lineup.
These went live earlier this month, replacing The Technomancer and Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2. Xbox Live Gold owners can now download Marooners and Earth Defense Force: Insect Armageddon.
Marooners offers a party game experience which is open to up to six players to enjoy on Xbox One. There are 25 different games and arenas to try out, with Marooners also boasting a small download size.
Marooners will be joined by The Golf Club 2 Featuring PGA Tour on May 16, alongside Comic Jumper from Xbox 360.
For those that have never used it before, Games with Gold is available to all Xbox Live Gold members and can be redeemed from the Gold widget on the Xbox One home screen.
When you select a game, it’ll be stored in your account and ready for download when you sign in to your console.
