Xbox One S Version 2 console listed at US retailer Target

While the Xbox Series S remains elusive, it’s believed that Microsoft may have a second version of the Xbox One S waiting in the wings.

Microsoft continues to stay quiet about the all but confirmed Xbox Series S (also known by the codename of Lockhart), which is purportedly a cheaper, less powerful version of the Xbox Series X.

It has been previously reported that Microsoft will unveil this second next gen console this month but, in the meantime, it’s believed that the company has also made a new iteration of its Xbox One S console.

According to Twitter user Private Biscuit, something named the Xbox One S V2 was added to the system at American retailer Target and is priced at $299.99 – the same cost as the current model.

As for this second Xbox One S, it’s unclear what might be different about it, other than perhaps cheaper components, but it’s almost certainly aimed at new customers rather than those that already own the current model.

Microsoft has suggested that it will be holding some sort of presentation this month, which could be the perfect place for Microsoft to clarify its line-up of reportedly multiple consoles and what owners can expect from them.

Apart from Lockhart, a new console codenamed Edinburgh is still yet to be identified and could conceivably be this new version of the Xbox One S.

The Xbox Series X is expected to release this November.
