The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD for Nintendo Switch will address some of the most annoying design decisions from the original Wii game, a new trailer from Nintendo shows. The Skyward Sword remaster will feature a variety of quality of life improvements, Nintendo says, including the ability to fast-forward dialogue, skip cutscenes, and reduce the amount of “help” offered by Fi, the spirit who lives in Link’s sword.
As shown in the above trailer, The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD will offer “optional help” from Fi. At certain moments, Link’s sword will glow and Fi will ask if you need help, offering advice, analysis, a reminder of your objective, and more.
Skyward Sword HD will also include “streamlined item information,” meaning that when Link picks up items, he won’t be reminded every single damn time what that item is. In the video, Link picks up a Stamina Fruit, which the game helpfully explains. When he picks up another, he just … picks it up.
Other quality of life improvements shown in the video include enhanced control options, with motion or button-only controls, and a smoother frame rate.
The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD will be released for Switch on July 16. Launching that same day is a new amiibo featuring Zelda and her Loftwing, which lets players fast-travel to the skies from anywhere.
