Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order might not be in a galaxy so far away anymore, as Respawn Entertainment’s highly-anticipated Star Wars action-adventure title’s debut is just over the horizon. After the cancellation of one Star Wars title and years of waiting for another single-player Star Wars video game, fans are eagerly awaiting Jedi: The Fallen Order’s newly announced launch date in November 2019.
We’ve collected everything we know about the game so far for your viewing pleasure. From its announcement at E3 2018 to speculation surrounding potentially leaked artwork. Make sure to keep coming back as more news drops.
Jedi: Fallen Order Release Date
This week also gave us a better look at the game’s potential visuals. Through a series of cryptic tweets from the official Star Wars account, we got our first look at artwork that appears to feature a broken lightsaber with embers floating nearby. We know the story at this point follows a lone padawan who survived the Order 66–a military order from the emperor for all clones to kill and find traitorous Jedi–after the events of Revenge of the Sith.
Jedi: Fallen Order Rumors
The internet is a dark and full of spoilers. On April 11, Amazon might have unintentionally leaked Jedi: Fallen Order’s artwork through a T-shirt listing. The item has since been removed from their store, but there were plenty of secrets hiding in the leaked artwork. Be warned, though this analysis is speculation, there could be spoilers ahead.
Jedi: Fallen Order at Star Wars Celebration
At Star Wars Celebration in Chicago, we got a better look at everything Jedi: Fallen Order has to offer players later this year. Players will take on the role of a lone Jedi name Cal Kestis who survived the Order 66. And according to EA and Respawn, “Players must pick up the pieces of Cal’s shattered past to complete his training and master the art of the iconic lightsaber – all while staying one step ahead of the Empire and its deadly Inquisitors.”
So what exactly does that all mean? We’ve got a complete breakdown of all the characters revealed in the newest trailer, as well as an analysis on the title’s villain who might be familiar–Second Sister. We also have a complete guide to Jedi: Fallen Order’s release date, trailer, and gameplay.
As far as gameplay goes, not much has been said other than it’s an action-adventure title. Despite some stealth-like elements in its marketing, Jedi: Fallen Order is not a stealth title. Stig Asmussen from Respawn told Joshua Yheul “that there will be no stealth mechanics in favor of emphasizing lightsaber and Force-power combat.”
We also know that the game will feature something for fans old and new. Cal’s story begins in a brand new location to the Star Wars universe: Bracca. Respawn has also confirmed that there will be other locations, gear, weapons, and enemies, that will be familiar to long-time fans.
Jedi: Fallen Order will be a single-player experience with no multiplayer or microtransactions. The game is set to release on November 15, 2019 for PC, Xbox One, and PS4. Make sure to check out our complete pre-order guide for every bonus available.
Jedi: Fallen Order is not the previously canceled Star Wars game that was being led by Amy Henning, Project Ragtag, though she did react to Fallen Order’s reveal at Star Wars Celebration. It also seems that Fallen Order has taken priority at EA, as Respawn halted development on another unnamed title to work on Fallen Order.
As more details about Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order arise, we’ll be sure to update this article accordingly. In the meantime, check out all of our coverage coming out of Star Wars Celebration 2019.
