[Last Chance] Destiny 2: Where Is Xur This Week? Exotic Items / Location Guide (Aug. 28-Sept. 1)

We’re about to enter the final week of Destiny 2’s Solstice of Heroes event, which means time is running out to earn your special Solstice armor and to knock out key Moments of Triumph. It’s a good time to visit Xur and rifle through his offerings of Exotic weapons and armor to get yourself the tools you need–and you’ve still got a few hours before he departs with the weekly reset on September 1. Head to Titan to find Xur this week, on The Rig. For his weapon, Xur is offering Sunshot. Hunters can pick up the Gwisin Vest chest armor; for Titans, there’s the Actium War Rig chest armor; and for Warlocks, Xur has the Contraverse Hold gauntlets.

Xur Location

Find Xur by spawning in on The Rig on Titan and heading north and east, along the edge of the area and around the building near the transmat zone. You’ll need to go left and under some walkways, through an area populated by Fallen. On the far side, look for a low building to your left, near the edge of the area. Xur is hanging out in the shadows within.

Xur Exotic Items

This week, Xur has Sunshot, a powerful, Solar-infused hand cannon that’s found use in the Crucible since the days of vanilla Destiny 2. Its explosive rounds make it useful in a whole lot of situations. If you’re not a fan of his other options, Xur also sells an Exotic engram that will decrypt into an Exotic you don’t already own. He also has the Five of Swords challenge card, which lets you enable modifiers for Nightfall Strikes.

  • Exotic Engram — 97 legendary shards
  • Sunshot — 29 legendary shards
  • Gwisin Vest — 23 legendary shards
  • Actium War Rig — 23 legendary shards
  • Contraverse Hold — 23 legendary shards
  • Five of Swords — free

Sunshot (Hand Cannon)

Sunshot is a reliable, powerful energy hand cannon that’ll serve you well just about anywhere in the solar system. It fires explosive rounds that deal a whole bunch of damage, and if you kill an enemy with Sunshot, they explode, spreading the pain even more. Enemies that take damage from the explosions get highlighted, helping you find your next target, which makes the gun pretty useful when firing into crowds in PvE or in the Crucible.

Gwisin Vest (Hunter)

For Hunters using the Spectral Blades Super ability, Gwisin Vest is a must-have. It increases the duration of your roaming Super significantly, giving you Super energy back when you score kills and then go back into stealth mode–the more kills before returning to stealth, the more Super you get back. If you want to use Spectral Blades to their fullest, wear the Gwisin Vest for best results.

Actium War Rig (Titan)

Actium War Rig is meant to keep your bullet-spraying guns firing. Use this Exotic when you’re relying heavily on auto rifles and machine guns. It constantly reloads a portion of your magazine of both kinds of guns from reserves, allowing you to keep the lead flying for longer, and making you even deadlier.

Contraverse Hold (Warlock)

There was a time when Contraverse Hold was a dominant Crucible Exotic. It’s been pared back since then, but you can still get a lot of effectiveness out of this one, especially in PvP. Contraverse pairs with your Void grenade abilities like Handheld Supernova, Feed the Void, or Chaos Accelerant, making you resistant to incoming damage when you use them. Especially with Supernova, which throws a powerful short-range burst directly in front of you, Contraverse can make you tougher to stop. When you land a hit with these grenade abilities, you get a random amount of grenade energy back, making it possible to use them again and again for maximum destruction.
