Bethesda’s E3 2019 press conference, which will take place on Sunday, June 9 at 5:30 p.m. PT/8:30 p.m. ET, is being “headlined” by id Software’s Doom Eternal, but there is still plenty of room for surprises and updates to existing games.
This is what we expect to see from the publisher at its big E3 showcase.
Doom Eternal
Bethesda’s next big game is Doom Eternal — which was also announced for Google’s upcoming streaming service, called Stadia — and we can certainly expect a lot of Doom Eternal news this year. A release date and information about all the different editions of the game seems like a very sure bet.
Wolfenstein: Youngblood
We can also expect some new footage of Wolfenstein: Youngblood, which will launch July 26 and includes a “buddy pass” that will allow anyone who buys the game’s deluxe edition to play with a friend. The two players have to be logged on at the same time, but outside of that limitation you’ll be able to share the entirety of the game with a friend at no extra charge. That’s a nice feature, and the Wolfenstein franchise has been remarkably strong to date. Youngblood is definitely a game to watch.
Rage 2
Bethesda is also likely to share details for new content for Rage 2, which is a surprisingly fun shooter as long as you’re willing to dig in and find your own fun with the game’s extensive combat systems.
The Elder Scrolls 6 and Starfield
Fans may be hungry for more details about The Elder Scrolls 6 or the upcoming, and somewhat mysterious, Starfield, but neither game is expected to be at E3. What we’ve seen so far is meant to be players a sense of the technology, but the more concrete information might have to wait until next year.
“It’s going to be a long time,” Bethesda’s Todd Howard said during a recent presentation at PAX. “It’s not something we’re going to be talking about at E3 — either of those games — this year. And so patience, please.”
Fallout 76
Fallout 76 is going to be a challenge to turn around for mainstream after a disappointing launch and hard first year, but Bethesda has been steadily releasing content every two weeks to try to improve the game and keep its dedicated fans happy.
It’s possible that we’ll get more detailed news about what to expect for Fallout 76 in the long term at E3. You can also read about what Bethesda has already announced about its plans for the game this year if you’re trying to decide whether to give the game another shot.
The Evil Within 3?
Legendary game designer and director Shinji Mikami is headed to E3, according to a recent tweet, and that could mean just about anything. But maybe we’re getting an Evil Within 3 from Bethesda?
Fallout Shelter sequel?
We know that Bethesda has a sequel to the mobile, free-to-play Fallout Shelter, but so far the game has only been announced for the Chinese market.

It’s possible that we’re going to hear about a North American release of the game, but that doesn’t seem as likely after Bethesda’s Pete Hines called it a sequel developed “in China, for China” in a tweet last year.
