FaZe Clan’s first female player is a 13-year-old girl

FaZe Clan’s first female member is a 13-year-old Fortnite player, who joined the elite esports team this weekend after her appearance in the World Cup’s Pro-Am Duos.

Soleil “Ewok” Wheeler is also deaf; she gave an excited statement in sign language when introduced yesterday evening. “I am so very excited to be in FaZe. The quality of people on the team, everybody is really wonderful, so FaZe up,” she said.

Ewok is FaZe Clan’s second member under age 14, following H1ghsky1 who joined the Fortnite squad back in March. Ewok played with pop star (and November 2017 Dancing With the Stars champion) Jordan Fisher in the Pro-Am on Friday, winning $20,000 for charity.

Ewok’s playing career so far has included time with streamers Ben “DrLupo” Lupo, Tim “TimTheTatman” Betar, and Tyler “Ninja” Blevins — making her one of the few girls to play with Ninja since his controversial announcement, last year, that he would not stream with female players. She, Ninja, DrLupo and TeamLiquid’s Chap streamed together on June 4.

According to stats at Fortnite Tracker, Ewok has 65 victories so far in Season 9, with 1,335 eliminations and a 1.74 K/D. On Twitch, she has almost 200,000 followers and has been streaming for the past eight months, beginning with a video in which she eliminates Thang “SpaceLyon” Phan, who is a founding member of FaZe’s Fortnite team. Now she’s his teammate.
